FAQ
1. Is this Gluckigluck the original?
Absolutely!!!
Gluckigluck is the German name for the original "GLUGGLE JUG," which was produced by WADE CERAMICS until 2022 and has been made in England for over 150 years! It is still produced in England today by the company that bought the GLUGGLE JUG business after WADE CERAMICS became insolvent. It is called "THE GLUGGLE JUG FACTORY." Unlike its copies, the Gluckigluck or Gluggle Jug gurgles and can be used for drinking. Only the original has its name stamped under the base as "Gluggle Jug" – so you can verify it!
2. Which size should I buy?
Many customers wonder: Do I want a small, medium, or large Glucki? Here is some information to help with the decision:
XL:
The large Gluckigluck (XL) is by far our bestseller. About 75% of all sold jugs are this size. It holds up to 1.2 liters, is about 27.5 cm tall, and about 17 cm wide at its widest point. The XL carafe weighs 1.4 kg.
Once filled with water, the XL carafe can no longer be lifted alone by younger enthusiasts. It has a big belly, gurgles longer and deeper. When used at the dining table, it does not need to be refilled constantly because it holds more liquid by itself.
L:
The size L, i.e., medium Gluckigluck (incorrectly called L) is intended for singles or older people or also for children who are not yet strong enough to lift the jug filled with liquid. The L-Glucki is somewhat slimmer in shape. It holds 0.6 liters and is about 22 cm tall at its highest point. It weighs about 0.8 kg. It gurgles less deeply than the XL and needs to be refilled more quickly.
Mini:
The Mini Glucki is about 9 cm tall and about 5.5 cm wide at its widest point. It weighs about 100 grams. It is ideal for cream, milk, or small flowers for coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, sauces, etc. The Mini is no bigger than a glass... but sooo cute!
3. Why doesn't my Glucki gurgle?
It is extremely rare that a Glucki does not gurgle. For it to gurgle, it must be filled with water between the eye and belly and you must swing it back and forth. So pretend you are pouring the water in and then swing the fish back.
If there is still water above the eye, no air enters the tail when filling, and the jug cannot gurgle. If there is too little water in the fish, there can be no play between water and air, and then it does not gurgle either.
Don't forget: It gurgles when it rocks back and forth. That's the secret. Not just when you pour it out.
Does it work now?
4. A small part of the proceeds from each Gluckigluck goes to Syngap research
A portion of the proceeds from every Gluckigluck is used for awareness and research of the SYNGAP1 gene. The task of the SYNGAP1 gene is to provide instructions for producing a protein called "SYNGAP." This protein generally suppresses brain activity. If there is not enough SYNGAP, the brain is usually more excitable. This explains why those affected by changes in the Syngap1 gene have typical problems, especially in areas such as learning, seizures, hyperactivity, and sleep disorders. The proceeds are used to support research. Donations will either go to www.leonandfriends.org or to a specific research project.
